The Town of Edgartown will be using an urgent notification system to notify the community of emergencies and other urgent issues. In an ideal situation no notifications would have to be sent, but realistically there will be times when this needs to be used.

There are 2 ways to join:

1. Text the word ALERT to 68398

OR

2. Click this link: http://tatango.com/join/18532-g1MzIwL - PLEASE NOTE: You will be sent a text message with a PIN # to your cell phone - you will need to enter that into the PIN # field on the website.

If you ever want to remove yourself from receiving these messages, just reply to a message with the word STOP.

The solution we are using is text message based, so if you opt into the notification group, you will be alerted of these events by a text message sent to your cell phone. From that point, we would hope that recipients of these messages would contact people they know who do not use cell phones. No solution is perfect for notifying 100% of the population but this solution is one that should be very effective. Absolutely nobody's information will ever be shared, sold, etc. with vendors or other parties.

If you click the link to join the group, you will be brought to a site branded with the name Tatango - that is the service handling the group signup - you have not been redirected to an incorrect site.
