The Edgartown Affordable Housing Committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 PM. The Edgartown Affordable Housing Trust meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 4:15 PM. Both the Affordable Housing Trust and the Affordable Housing Committee meetings will be held at the Town Hall, First-Floor Conference Room, unless stated otherwise.  For confirmation of meeting dates, please email Shanette Deleon at affordable@edgartown-ma.us.

Affordable Housing Committee

The goal of the Affordable Housing Committee is to facilitate affordable and attainable homes at below-market prices for individuals who are unable to establish homes in Edgartown due to high real estate costs. The Committee’s key focus areas are Family Housing, Year-Round Housing, Missing-Middle Housing, and Municipal Housing. These programs aim to alleviate hardship and support a stable, diversified year-round community and workforce in Edgartown.

The Affordable Housing Committee is proud to be a part of the Meshacket development project, which will provide affordable community rentals and ownership opportunities on a town-owned parcel off Meshacket Road. This project had a successful groundbreaking in 2024, and the Committee looks forward to its grand opening in 2026. The Committee continues to plan and design a development project on a town-owned parcel located at 294 Chappaquiddick Road. Additionally, the Committee has overseen multiple resales of affordable properties and will continue to do so.

This Committee continues to work to create unique opportunities for affordable housing in Edgartown; such as Community Outreach programs, Housing Lottery and Buy-Down programs.
