Personnel Board
Overview
The Personnel Board is a five member board responsible for the administration of the Personnel Bylaw. The Selectboard appoints four registered voters of the Town of Edgartown to the Personnel Board, and the fifth member is elected by the employees of the Town of Edgartown, with the approval of the Selectboard, to serve as the Employee Representative. The responsibilities of the Personnel Board include:
- Ensure that the Town maintains an effective personnel system;
- Formulate and review the classification and compensation plan;
- Evaluate and classify positions, and review requests for reclassifications;
- Monitor the effectiveness and implementation of the Town's personnel bylaw, procedures, and practices;
- Provide advise and assistance to department heads, supervisory personnel, and employees on all aspects of personnel management;
- Supervise and maintain a centralized personnel record keeping system.
