The Parade Steps off from the Edgartown School at 5:00pm sharp on the 4th of July.
Parade route: Parade begins at the intersection of West Tisbury Road and Robinson Rd. Next it takes a right onto Main Street and then a left onto Pease’s Point Way (next to the monument). It follows Pease’s Point Way and then takes a right onto Morse Street, a left onto Fuller Street and a right onto Thayer Street. At the end of Thayer it takes a right onto North Water Street. Next it takes a right up Main Street. It continues up Main Street and then takes a left onto the West Tisbury Road and finishes at the Edgartown School.
Fireworks Information
The fireworks display happens after sunset when it is completely dark.
Best places for viewing are around the harbor.
The fireworks barge is moored north of the lighthouse. Sometimes it must be a bit farther out due to shorebird nesting.
Planning ahead, carpooling or taking public transportation, and arriving early are strongly advised.
The Edgartown School and Library Parking are for Parade Staging Only. There is no public parking available, and the Rec Area is closed for renovations.
Leave your car at home and take the VTA. It's free to ride. Bus information can be found here.
Chappy Ferry
For the Parade, Chappy Ferry Vehicle Traffic will be prohibited in both directions at 4:15pm. However, service will continue for those already in line on Simpson's Ln. and Daggett St.
Vehicle Service will resume after the parade and suspend again at 8:15pm in preparation for the fireworks.
Passenger service will be available until shortly before the fireworks start.
After the fireworks, passenger service ONLY will resume for the first half hour. Then vehicle service will resume until midnight.
