Early Voting

EARLY VOTING INFORMATION

Voters must apply every calendar year by completing a Vote by Mail Application  OR apply ONLINE.  Please complete, "hand" sign or electronically sign so that is substantially the same way as by hand (typed fonts are not acceptable) and submit to the Town Clerk's Office via email attachment to kmedeiros@edgartown-ma.us or by fax to 508-627-6119, or by mail to Town Clerk's Office, PO Box 35, Edgartown, MA 02539 or deposit in the drop box located outside of Edgartown Town Hall.  Voters can check the status of their ballot by using Track My Ballot.

MAIL-IN APPLICATION DEADLINES:

The application must reach the Town Clerk's office by 5 p.m. on the fifth business day before Election Day.

APPLY AND SUBMIT AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, especially if your ballot will need to be mailed out of town.  The U.S. Postal Service recommends allowing up to 7 to 10 days for mail delivery.  To ensure you receive your ballot with enough time to mail it back, you should apply 2-3 weeks before Election Day.

EARLY VOTING IN-PERSON

Early Voting In-Person for a municipal election will be determined at a later date.

Absentee Voting

Unlike early voting, which is currently available only for certain state elections, absentee voting is available for all elections.  Absentee voting is available to those who qualify. Absentee ballots are available before the early voting period. For more information, visit the Absentee Voting Information page.
